fter running the 1st Ever Regatta of Champions with success beyond expectations, the Organizers of The R.O.C. went back to the drawing board to enhance, correct and improve a Class Act Event and make it even better and bigger for 2023.
With just the 1st year of existence, organizers move ahead to expand the number of participants to the maximum, as initially planned to 45, including more events for Wild Card Invitations around the world, as well as increase the Clinics to at least one more.
A hard effort was also put together to bring in additional strategic partners and add even grater value to the Event.
Great effort was made to work on the logistics and make communication with sailors, coaches and parents around the world, easier and down to the point.
“We are ready to have the 2nd Ever Regatta Of Champions – The R.O.C. and to deliver an upscale regatta like never organized before. Our objective is to learn from previous events, enhance and upgrade and try to deliver a better and bigger event every year. We listen to sailors, coaches, officials, parents and everyone involved, in order to improve and give the Optimist World what they demand. We continue with all of our partners in tagged and that says a lot and we try carefully to add more valuable pieces to the puzzle, stated by the Chairman of The R.O.C., Stelios Charalambous.”
Such a valuable partner is Fraglia Vela Riva where everything got started last year with the first two Wild Card Invitations that passed out at the 40th Lake Garda Meeting.
