fficial first yesterday, for the 2022 Chesva 2.0 Regatta of Champions – The R.O.C.. After the registration day on the 13th of November, the day yesterday included last minute arrangements, Race Committee Practice Races and at 19:00 a glamourous Opening Ceremony centered around Sailors & Coaches.
Under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades who was represented by Minister of Health Mr. Michalis Hadjipantelas, the Ceremony started with a welcome speech of the President of Famagusta Nautical Club and Chairman of The R.O.C. who focused on Sailors and Coaches, as well as to all partners who contributed to the Event, in order to Come True, after years of drawing and sketches.
He stood to the Title Sponsor of the Event, Mr. Mike Shyrokov, CEO of Chesva 2.0 Marine Contractors and expressed his appreciation for all his support to the Club and the Event.
Mr. Shyrokov welcomed the Sailors and Coaches and urge them to follow their dreams and congratulated the Club for organizing an event, like no other before and making the sailing world focusing on that.
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Michalis Hadjipantelas took the podium, representing the President of the Republic of Cyprus expressed his gratitude to the Famagusta Nautical Club for organizing events like this that promote Cyprus around the world, especially the occupied city of Famagusta and expressed his will to organize the event at our Club in Famagusta.
Next to the podium was the President of Cyprus Sports Organization, Mr. Andreas Michailides, who focused his speech to the sponsors that help athletes to follow their dreams and noted the importance of their contribution to all sports.
Welcoming speeches were also given by the Mayor of Germasoyeia Municipality, Mr. kyriacos Xydias and the representative of the Municipality of Famagusta, Mr. Andreas Vasileiou.
The Chairman of The R.O.C. presented then all the Sailors and Coaches that made up the Elite participants of The 2022 R.O.C. Chesva 2.0. The Ceremony closed with fireworks, finger food, cocktails and mocktails for all.
